First Aid at Work (FAW) – Regulated Blended Learning

By the end of the course you will have learnt:

  • Prioritising injuries and action in an emergency.
  • How to provide immediate medical care in an emergency.
  • How to assess if someone is unconscious, whether or not they are breathing and how and when to put them into the recovery position or start CPR.
  • We will cover common accidents and injuries relevant to your industry and empower you with the skills and confidence to provide an immediate and appropriate first aid response.
  • We will include baby and child first aid and we will always tailor the course to the requirements of your work.
  • This course covers more topics and goes into considerably more depth and detail than the shorter EFAW course.

The course covers:

  • Managing an incident
  • Priorities of First Aid
  • Treatment of an unconscious adult, baby and child who is breathing – recovery position
  • Treatment of an unconscious adult, baby and child who is not breathing – CPR
  • Importance of a defibrillator and how to use an AED
  • Heart Attack and Angina
  • Stroke
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Bleeding – grazes, splinters, embedded objects, amputated parts, knocked out teeth, mouth injury, eye injury, bruising, nose bleeds, objects in eyes, ears, nose…
  • Burns and scalds
  • Head injuries, concussion, compression & skull fracture 
  • Spinal injuries
  • Breaks, soft tissue injuries & dislocations
  • Anaphylactic shock and acute allergic reaction
  • Fitting and seizures
  • Asthma
  • Complex chest injuries and breathing problems

If you have an in-date FAW qualification you can do a 2 day re-qualification (this can be completed with 6 hours of online pre-learning and 6 hours in the classroom).

You can undertake 6 hours of pre-learning online and 2 days in the classroom. 

Continuous assessment by trainer, practical assessments to cover wound management, care of an unconscious casualty, CPR, choking and anaphylaxis and 3 short multiple choice papers.

Ofqual Approved Level 3 Certification through Qualsafe Awards is valid for 3 years.

Our Level 3, First Aid at Work (FAW) courses are fully regulated through Focus Awards, Ofqual and the RQF framework. Our course uniquely covers Adult and Child First Aid in addition to the full HSE syllabus.

All of our FAW courses involve practical and multiple choice assessments and you will receive an externally awarded Level 3, Ofqual Certificate, valid for 3 years.

Blended FAW – 6 hours flexible pre-learning online + 2 days practical course – offering you enhanced training whilst saving you time and money.

Our interactive e-learning can be easily completed in short bursts on any computer or mobile device.

Our Level 3 First Aid at Work course is fully regulated by Focus Awards, Ofqual and the RQF framework and uniquely combines Adult and Child First Aid with the complete HSE syllabus. Our expert trainers from medical and emergency services who tailor every session to your industry’s needs.

You’ll complete practical and multiple-choice assessments to earn an externally awarded Level 3 certificate valid for three years. For greater flexibility and cost-savings, choose our blended option—six hours of online pre-learning followed by two days of hands-on training so that new three-day candidates and two-day re-qualifications can all train together efficiently.
